it being in hidive is not really the reason. pretty sure people knew there was a season 2 already because there's really nothing notable anime in this season besides this anime. if they really want to watch it, there's always a solution to watch it, not only in hidive, if you know what i mean. it is what it is.

Suspended sentence just means they aren't in prison and won't be sent there, but if they violate any laws while the suspension is in effect, they will serve the entire prison term plus whatever caused the violation. So if they break any laws in the next three years, they'll serve a 10 month prison term (in addition to anything else) in the US, even a citation could trigger the suspended sentence, mot sure of Japan though. TL:DR They're free, but have to be on the straight and narrow for a few years.

I'd say this is probably one of the most "grown up" anime I've watched. It's more like a late evening tv/netflix drama. The depth of the story, quality acting, and the animation quality all are absolutely amazing.

It really is becoming my #1 anime this season.

Knowing Japan and their obsession with a perfect image in media the manga will most likely get cancelled but I don't think the anime will suffer much because it's based on the light novel and not the manga (except for the art style).

Funny i had the opposite vibe.... Me and some of my friends were counting the days to the 1st episode premiere....Just a bit... apprehensive about the story line, but still very interested on watch it. Hope more people tune in, the story (source material) is just amazing... I just want for as many people as possible to feel what i felt when i discovered the game....

This episode was just so good in a way that we got more insight into our MC Aqua. The first epic moment was when the Tokyo Blade author finished the script together with GOA-san. The second savage moment was when Kana said how the industry get's the child actors to cry. Just unnowingly triggering Aquas PTSD. Than the third savage moment were the inner PTSD voices of Aqua with the brutal portrayal. The fourth and last moment that was amazing was when it finally all clicked to Akane. She connected all the dots. And now she knows the biggest secret of our main protagonist duo. Overall this episode was amazing and I had trobule breathing throughout it. As it was so intense. Man you gotta love an amazing buildup.

I believe something else might be an issue here: I know that is for me at least. Nier: Automata is such a good game that I consider it a crime to get to know the story from the anime before playing the game. That is why I do not recommend the anime to my friends and, instead, try to get them to play the game first. But the adaptation itself is very good. Loving it.

Wait, Nier is good? I thought the Nier adaptation sucked and it ended up in production hell. I did know it returned, but I just didn't bother when I thought it's a dumpster fire.

To be honest, as someone who hails Nier: Automata as one of the best games I've played and has also played Replicant and even Reincarnation, I was never hyped for the show because no matter how good the adaptation might be, it'll never be nearly as good as the game. There are so many great things about the game that literally cannot be translated into the anime format that I'd honestly be more excited to play the game again than to watch the adaptation. The adaptation also added some things that, in my opinion, didn't really add much to the experience. If you're going to deviate from the source material, make sure those changes are actually for the better. It's not a bad adaptation; it's just that it is a far cry from what playing the game actually feels like. I'd urge everyone who actually liked S1 to just go play the game instead and then come back for S2. The game is absurdly good, and you can easily find it for cheap (or pirate it if you really can't afford it).

I understand but not sympathetic. Everybody doesn't want to pay taxes but everybody does. Just because you happen to the artist to a popular anime doesn't make you an exception.
